Family Spinal Health

December 31, 2024

By Bethany Higgins: Chiropractor Victoria Point Chiropractic

It’s the time of year when we plan and prepare for return to work, school and other forms of study. This can be a stressful time and in the chaos, particularly when preparing children for ‘back to school’, we may overlook factors that can have a significant effect on our future health and well-being.

As adults, we know it is important to have our spinal health checked but it is not always understood it is equally important to have our children’s spinal health checked. Many pains and symptoms that present in teenage years and adulthood initiate from abnormal muscular and joint stress in our younger years. This is often due to poor posture and/or previous injury. Poor posture can lead to early and irreversible wear.

Chiropractors assess for poor posture, scoliosis, poor muscular function, poor joint motion and provide individual advice on how all members of the family can look after their spinal health.

Pertinent to the start of 2025, a chiropractor can provide advice on the selection and wearing of backpacks, suitable exercise and how to exercise safely, ergonomic advice for work, home, study and the significance of choosing an appropriate pillow and mattress.

A Family Fee is offered when three or more members are scheduled for care. Other conditions may apply, so please ask a receptionist for information about fees for families.
