Payment details and information
Payment is expected at the time of service. We accept cash and the following credit cards: Bankcard,
MasterCard, and Visa. Eftpos facilities are available but payments under $10 are not accepted
through Eftpos.
On arrival, inform the receptionist if full payment is not possible at the time of service. All services not paid for on the day of service may attract a $20 accounting fee and are due and payable within seven days.
Medicare
Medicare does not generally provide benefits for chiropractic services. An exception is Chronic Disease Management (CDM) which requires referral from a medical practitioner. (CDM) was formerly named Enhanced Primary Care Program (EPC).
When referred by a chiropractor, one set of full spinal x-rays may be bulk billed to Medicare in one calendar year.
Private health insurance
The Hi-caps facility allows members of most registered health funds to claim benefits at the time of service. Payment required will be any gap between fee charged and benefit received.
The Hi-caps facility provides a service at a cost to the practice, but the relationship between a patient and their health fund remains personal and private.
Full payment of the service is expected should a benefit not be paid through the Hi-caps facility.
Victoria Point Chiropractic (VPC) is a BUPA Members First Chiropractic Network Practice. As such, the practice has an agreement with BUPA that is independent of member agreements with BUPA. Please contact the practice and/or ask a receptionist for further information.
Workers’ compensation
Workers’ compensation only covers chiropractic services if under medical referral. Please advise when appointing if you are covered by a Workers Compensation claim.
Third party payments
(Workers Compensation and Insurance Companies)
Claims are strictly between patient and relevant third party, but please discuss any personal concerns relating to a claim with your chiropractor. Direct billing to a third party for chiropractic consultation and treatment will only be considered when a claim is formally approved.
Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA)
DVA cardholders are only covered for chiropractic care under medical referral. Massage is not covered by DVA.
Missed appointments and cancellations
Missed and cancelled appointments without reasonable notice do not enable us to reappoint your allocated time and may attract a fee equal to the cost of the missed or cancelled appointment.
Notice of 24 hours is requested.
